Do you want to support community safety?
Join Thames Valley Police as a Police Community Support Officer (PCSO).
Our PCSOs are the face of the police within local communities.
As a PCSO, you will police our neighbourhoods, work to reduce crime and disorder, and build strong relationships with our communities and partner agencies.
Wondering whether this is the role for you? Here is what our PCSOs have to say:
PCSO Fiona Holt, length in service – 7 years: “After leaving school I worked in retail for a long time before training to work in childcare. After some hard life changes I felt like I needed to re-evaluate my life and decided to become a PSCO after taking part in a police ride-along. Every day is different and that’s what I love about being a PCSO. We are constantly thinking about other people and we care. Every day I think: if I can make a difference to just one person I’ve made a difference in mine.” Discover Fiona’s story here
PCSO Ahmed Mohamed, length in service – 4 and ½ years: “I knew I wanted to do something working in and around people – when I saw the advert for PCSO it seemed to fit. There are lots of opportunity in TVP to progress and get involved if you want to develop yourself; You don’t need a high rank or long service to help encourage positive change and have a voice at TVP.” Read Ahmed’s story here
PCSO Brandan Charles, length in service – 1 and ½ years: “I have always admired the professionalism of our PCSOs, seeing them out in the town, in their uniforms, engaging with their communities – I felt confident I could do it. In a policing career, you make a difference every single day just by showing up, by talking to someone; even the slightest interaction can make a huge difference. This is a career I am definitely in for the long run.” Read Brandan’s story here
