Flood Group
Appleton with Eaton has a Flood Group which is a working group of the Parish Council. Contact
details are shown below and on the notice board outside of the village shop.
The following equipment which is stored in the centre of the village is
available for use in an emergency:
Four pumps, two petrol driven, two electrical, three 100m reels of hose, one aqua vac for shallow surface water on carpets. Members of the Flood Group have access to and know how to operate the pumps.
There is also a reserve supply of aqua sacs. These are dry storage sacs which swell when in contact with water, forming an effective barrier and much easier to handle than sand bags. Residents who are aware of previous flood risk to their property are advised to check they have their own supply of aqua sacs. If anyone needs a pack please get in touch with a member of the Flood Group or the Parish Clerk on either parishclerk@appleton-eaton-pc.gov.uk or 07767 596650.
