Our Church
For nearly a thousand years our beautiful church has been at the heart and soul of village life. Today it is the centre for a thriving Christian congregation. The message of Jesus Christ remains as fresh and relevant as when it was first heard two thousand years ago. Today at St. Laurence’s that message is given in a stimulating way, with a particular relevance to families and young people.
The 10.00am ‘All age’ communion service on a Sunday morning usually involve the congregation followed by refreshments and there is a Sunday club for the under 11s too. On the first Sunday of each month there is a ‘service of the word’ family service. In contrast to these lively services, the monthly 8.00am Holy Communion and the twice monthly 6.00pm Evensong are traditional.
These services retain the reverent beauty of the familiar words and music in which many people find peace and refreshment.
But peace and refreshment are available to everyone because the Church is open everyday. So, if you want a bit of quality time on your own or you just want a look around, you are very welcome to pop in!
